HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Democrats in the Montana House had one last chance Thursday to try to add money to the state budget for programs in education and health and human services during a floor debate on the two-year spending plan.
It wasn't working out so well. The Republican majority resisted their efforts in mostly party line votes during the morning debate, and the Democrats were expected to keep running into a wall of resistance throughout the day.
