Marlys Mae (Seeback) Jordan

Marlys Mae (Seeback) Jordan passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017 in Billings. She was born September 20, 1934 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, daughter of LaVern and Ruby (Boyer) Seeback. She moved to Livingston with her parents at age 9, and within one year moved back to Minneapolis, then back to Livingston again. She graduated from Park County High School in 1952 and got married the very next week. Marlys married the love of her life, Russell Jordan, June 1, 1952 at Pine Creek Methodist Church, in Paradise Valley. She often noted how glad she was to marry into such a happy, loving family.

Russ and Marlys raised their family in Livingston, then moved to Burlington, Iowa in 1986 when the railroad moved its shops out of Livingston. When Russ retired, they moved to Billings in 1997 to be closer to family.

Marlys and Russ loved to square dance together in the earlier years of their marriage. One of the many joys in her life was being with family.  Christmas was a favorite time of year and Marlys also enjoyed the hunting for the tree.  She and Russ enjoyed their Thursday Bingo Games at the Billings Sr. Center, and the family would get weekly reports on their winnings…and losings.  Marlys sold Avon Products in Livingston for 23 years, filling the family kitchen table each week with the latest shipment.

She learned to crochet and knit while in Iowa and made many afghans. Many in her family still enjoy their warmth.  She also made many afghans for the Billings Clinic Maternity Ward.

Marlys had, no has, a deep love of her Lord Jesus Christ.  Her faith is a strength to all of us.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Russell Jordan of Billings; three children, Roger (Kristi) Jordan of Gillette, Wyoming; Marsha (Doyle) Romey of Livingston; and Rick (Christy) Jordan of Boise; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Marlys was preceded in death by both parents, one grandson, two granddaughters and one great grandson.

The family would like to extend its gratitude to Valley Health Care & Rehab Center, and to RiverStone Health Home Care and Hospice Home.

A celebration oflLife will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 23, at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Billings.  Graveside services will be held 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 23, at Mountain View Cemetery in Livingston.
