David Ronald Freer
David Ronald Freer — beloved son, husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle — passed away Friday, Feb. 17, 2017 at the age of 77 in Weiser, Idaho.
David was born July 25, 1939 in Auburn, Washington to Martin and Ann Freer. He enlisted in the Navy Dec. 21, 1956 and completed his service as a BT3 on Feb. 19, 1963. He spent the better part of his life self-employed in the auto industry. He married Dee Charters Dec. 9, 1979 in Carson City, Nevada and both were active members of the Elks BPOE 1683. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, riding horses and racing jeeps. His greatest pleasure came from spending time with family and friends … especially all of his granddaughters.
David is survived by his wife, Dee; his mother, Ann; his daughter Deborah (Freer) Kay and her husband, Anthony; his son Tim Freer and fiancée Shela Gable; daughter Lori Jioras and her husband, Tony; son Jim Holsbeck; daughter-in-law Rachel Holsbeck; granddaughters Kristen and Sarah Plessner, Andrea and Kaelyn Jioras, and Hailey and Madison Holsbeck; brother Eugene Freer and his wife, Mary Lee; sister-in-law Peggy Charters; and many very special nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
David is preceded in death by his father, Martin Freer; sister Patty Freer; and grandson Ryan Plessner.
David was loved by all for his shining personality and quick wit and will be tremendously missed.
Funeral services were held at Thomason Funeral Home, 221 E. Court St., Weiser, Idaho at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017. A reception immediately followed at the Weiser Elks Lodge, 38 W. Idaho Street.
